Legal Support Coordinator

(Initial Part-Time, Hybrid Brisbane CBD)

As an established and respected boutique firm with nine lawyers plus support staff, we are seeking an eager Legal Support Coordinator with an eye to detail, independence and willingness to learn to join our Brisbane team.

About the Role

This is an exciting part-time opportunity, with the option to commence on a 2-3 days per week basis and transition to 4 days per week from July 2026. You will work closely with our Principal Lawyer, Special Counsel, and Lawyers, providing essential support across the practice and contributing to the smooth operation of the firm. As a valued member of our legal support team, you will be involved in a wide variety of tasks - from research and drafting to client liaison and administrative coordination. Your role will be integral to maintaining our high standard of service and fostering strong, positive client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and assist with the preparation, drafting, and formatting of legal documents, correspondence, briefs, and court forms.

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the legal team, including (but not limited to):

    • Email and inbox management

    • Handling incoming telephone enquiries

    • Accounts, billing, and invoicing support

    • Preparing reports and maintaining internal records

    • Trust accounting

    • Calendar management, scheduling, and coordinating meetings

    • Maintaining office supplies and general office organisation

  • Assist in the conduct and management of files, including opening, maintaining, updating, and closing matters in accordance with firm procedures.

  • Liaise directly with clients via email, telephone, and in-person meetings, ensuring a professional and supportive client experience.

  • Perform due diligence tasks such as conducting title searches, company searches, and other regulatory checks.

  • Assist with preparing briefs to counsel and coordinating court filings or lodgements where required.

  • Provide high-level Executive Assistant support to the Principal Lawyer, including diary management, document organisation, and general practice support.

  • Support the broader operations of the firm by undertaking any other tasks reasonably directed by the legal team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with not only the team but clients;

  • Attention to detail;

  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work independently;

  • Legal research skills;

  • Willingness for growth to continue your own personal development within the firm.

  • Currently completing a Bachelor of Laws degree, preferably in your second or third year.

  • Experience is ideal but not required.

  • Experience on Canva and LinkedIn is ideal but not required.
